“When it is understood that one loses joy and happiness in the attempt to possess them, the essence of natural farming will be realized. The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings."

One of the on-site fields at Sweetwater. These fields are primarily used to supplement the yields gathered from the larger off site field at Children's Home or used as "on-the-fly" picking in case the CSA - Community Supported Agriculture- or market run out of a product. |
The "main" field at the Children's Home. This is where most of the cultivation, weeding and harvesting happens. |
Sunday Farmer's Market
The Sunday Farmer's Market is a great way to spend an afternoon. After a full morning of harvesting and washing vegetables, Sweetwater hosts its very own market from noon to four (during the growing season). A variety of vendors are on site to provide a wide array of products. There are trinkets and house decor items right along side of the organic vegetables, farm fresh milk and grass fed beef. A live band plays
while the market is bustling, and there are fresh smoothies and organic brick oven pizzas available. The honey guy,
bread guy and beef guy are my top three picks.
